Great Business Owners Celebrate Successes and Milestones

In the hustle and bustle of running your own business, you may neglect to take a breather, and celebrate the little (and big) milestones you’ve achieved. And even though a million plates are spinning and there’s never enough hours in the day, there is a great case to be made for stepping back and acknowledging your successes. Celebrations honor the work that’s been done and the folks that have made it happen. They honor the legacy you’ve created and the lives you, your team, and your businesses have impacted.

Here are some reasons to pop the champagne and celebrate:

  • A successful quarter

  • Completion of projects

  • Work anniversaries

  • Achievement of sales goals

  • New hires/team growth

All of these instances require hard work and dedication. Positive reinforcement of employees and team members can go a long way, not only in fostering a happier and healthier work environment, but in continuing a similar trend of success in the future.

So how do you celebrate success?

Express gratitude - Expressing your gratitude to your team can be meaningful in both big and small ways. Some ways that you can express gratitude are through:

  • Public Recognition - a social post with branding photos centered around your team members can go a long way in making them feel valued and part of a team.

  • Offer PTO - treating your employees the way you would want to be treated, as well as acknowledging their lives outside of work is a really wonderful way to show your appreciation.

  • Offer bonuses at milestones - chances are, you wouldn’t be reaching said milestone without your team! Giving them a slice of that success that they helped create is a great motivator, as well as an ethical business practice.

  • Send Starbucks gift cards - there is no gesture too small! Just to say “I see you, and I appreciate you” is a worthwhile move.

Reward reliability, innovation, and independence on your team, and it will surely benefit your business and company culture.
