You might already have the perfect place in mind or a spot that is most convenient for your crew. That’s great, I’ll come to you!

But if you need a little inspiration, take a look at some of the gorgeous locations I’ve worked at before. In my years photographing families around NYC, here are a few of my favorite places:

1. Battery Park

Battery Park, located at the southern tip of Manhattan, is an urban oasis blending natural beauty with iconic landmarks. From here, you can see One World Trade Center and the Statue of Liberty while strolling along the waterfront park.

2. Tribeca

Tribeca, short for "Triangle Below Canal Street," is a chic and eclectic neighborhood in downtown Manhattan, known for its historic cobblestone streets, iconic loft buildings, and old-world charm. This is one of my all-time favorite places to photograph families outside of Central Park.

3. Pier 35

Another Manhattan hidden gem, perfect for NYC family photos and IG-worthy backdrop is Pier 35. Be sure to arrive just before sunset and find yourself a spot on one of the larger-than-life swings. Your whole family will be able to fit while appreciating views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges.

4. The Rocks in Central Park

From the rocks near Wollman Rink in Central Park, you're treated to a mesmerizing panorama of both the park and city skyline. When booked as a private family session, we can pair this location with other gems in Central Park as we photo tour a handful of iconic locations.

5. Plaza Hotel

If you are a guest at the Plaza Hotel, I recommend starting here and making our way into Central Park.

6. OCULUS BUILDING

Serving both as a vital transportation center and a testament to innovative architecture in the heart of New York City, the Oculus Building is a striking architectural marvel in Lower Manhattan. Inside, the Oculus offers a light-filled atrium with modern, clean lines and minimalist aesthetics. Outside, there are endless backdrops from its white steel frame to city skyline to colorful graffiti.

7. Prospect Park

Prospect Park is a gem tucked away in Brooklyn. This massive green oasis in the midst of city life offers everything from peaceful meadows to dense forests. After your photoshoot, make a day of it and rent a paddle boat and visit the Prospect Park Zoo or Brooklyn Botanic Garden right next door.

EFP NYC Private family photoshoots are $699 and include:

  • Relaxed, 1-hour photoshoot

  • Unlimited high resolution digital images. We'll meet at a location of your choice in Manhattan or Brooklyn.

  • 1 week gallery delivery

  • Limited to up to 6 family members. Additional members billed separately at $20/person.

  • Please let me know if there are any mobility issues I can be mindful of!
